Roy McCarthy Obituary

Roy D. McCarthy, 86, of 52 Washburn Ave., died Thursday, January 18, 2007 at the Franklin Medical Center.

Survivors include his wife, the former Rollena (Tetreault) of 61 years; two daughters, Linda A. Haines, and her husband Peter of Westboro, Marilyn A. Cogswell of Greenfield; his brother, Harold, of Turners Falls; five grandsons, Robert Haines and his wife Christie Gandreau, Jeffrey Haines and his wife Maria Mason, Kyle Cogswell and his wife Leslie McCord, Lucas Cogswell and Nickolas Cogswell; three great-grandchildren, Ryan, Meghan, and Mason Haines; nieces and nephews.

Services will begin Tuesday morning at 9 A.M at the Smith-Kelleher Funeral Home, 87 Franklin St., Greenfield, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at Holy Trinity Church, 133 Main St., Greenfield at 10 A.M. Monsignor Ronald G. Yargeau, pastor, will serve as celebrant. Burial services will follow in Green River Cemetery with Military Honors provided by soldiers from Fort Drum, New York. Calling hours will take place Monday evening from 5 to 8 p.m.

Donations in memory of Roy may be sent to either, Hospice of Franklin County, 329 Conway St., Holy Trinity Church, 133 Main St., or Blessed Sacrament Church, 182 High St., all in Greenfield, MA 01301.
