Sandra Leduc Obituary

Sandra Jane "Sandy" (McCarthy) Leduc, 67, of Marlborough, died Friday, Feb. 27, 2009, at UMass Medical Center, Worcester, after a brief illness.

Born in Northborough, she was the daughter of the late Chester and Gladys (Ward) McCarthy and the wife of Raymond E. Leduc, of Marlborough, to whom she had been married for the past 52 years.

For many years, she had been employed as a waitress for the former Oxford Restaurant, Marlborough.

She then worked as an administrative assistant for Digital Equipment Corp. and most recently Allmerica Financial, from which she retired in 2004.

A devoted wife and mother, she loved to cook and bake for family and friends and gave sewing lessons for the Singer Sewing Center, Hudson. She had been active for many years with the Northborough High School Alumni Association.

Besides her husband, she is survived by her sons, Gary Leduc, of Framingham, Russell Leduc and his wife Karen of Marlborough; her daughters, Patricia Ayotte and her husband Ron, of Marlborough, Kimberly Paradise, of Worcester and Michelle Caporelli and her husband Ralph, of Worcester; her brothers, Norman McCarthy and Dawn of Blaine, MN, Philip McCarthy and Dornae, of Weymouth, and Robert McCarthy, of Weymouth, and her grandchildren, Jill Chute, Nicholas Cormier, Jonathan Ayotte, Mary Paradise, Emilie Paradise, Suzanne Talbot, and Timothy Leduc; her great granddaughter, Abbegayle Talbot, many dear friends, and her beloved Springer Spaniels, Lucy and Lizzie. She was also the sister of the late Chester McCarthy, of Palm Springs, CA.

A funeral service will be held on Wed., March 4, at 10:00 a.m., in the Slattery Funeral Home, Inc., 40 Pleasant St., Marlborough. Visiting hours will be held on Tue., March 3, from 4-8 p.m. in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to: The Komen Massachusetts Affiliate, Donation, P.O. To Ray, the children and grandchildren,
