Stella Hadjoglou Obituary

Stella (Christo) Hadjoglou, 96, of Park Ave, passed away peacefully on August 12, 2008, surrounded by her loving family.

Stella was born in Turkey, on September 11, 1911, and emigrated to the United States, with her mother, in 1928. She came to Webster as a bride in 1934. Her husband, Cosmas (Charles Michael) passed away in 1989. Stella is survived by her daughter, Christina Mayo and her husband John of Florida; two grandchildren: John Mayo II of Orlando and Tina Mayo of Davie, FL; one great-grandson, Jack, of Davie, FL. Stella is also survived by four sisters from Michigan and Ohio and one brother from Florida; two nephews: Harry Jordanoglou and his wife Catherine, Costa Koulax and his wife Bessie; a niece, Eleni Xanthopoulos and her husband Paul, all of Webster; Stella is also survived by her devoted companions: Helen and Rose as well as many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Stella was an active member of the Sts. Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Church and its Ladies Philoptochos Society for 74 years.

All are invited to attend calling hours on Friday, August 15th from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in the Sts. Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Church, 35 Lake Parkway, Webster, MA. A Trisagion Service will be held at 7:30 p.m. A Funeral Service will take place on Saturday, August 16th at 10:30 a.m. in the Church. Burial will follow in the Mount Zion Cemetery, Webster. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Graham, Putnam, & Mahoney Funeral Parlors of Worcester. In lieu of flowers, Stella's family requests that memorial contributions be sent to the Sts. Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Church, 35 Lake Parkway, Webster, MA 01570. c/o Memorial Fund.
