Dear Travis, It's been a year since you been gone and as I sit here your friends are at the site where you left us, celebrating your life. Everyone who knew you miss you and the love we all feel for you is still as strong as it was when you were here. You have touched so many lives in so many ways but I know in my heart you know that. You will never be forgotten. Your mom misses you most of all. She is always talking about you. Memories of you and the undying love she has for you is what keeps her going. Be at peace Travis and never forget you are loved.

October 6, 2006

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."

It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man."

God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

Travis, You were the coolest kid anybody could have been friends with. I remember all the times we had fun at the Y doing absolutely nothing unless they would say we were gonna play Dodgeball then we would beat everyone having the best times in my life and I hope yours too. Then when we both stopped going to the Y we saw each other randomly over the years in various places. We met seven or eight years ago and the most time we spent together besides the Y was Friday and Saturday. Then when we started to get close again you were taken away from me. And not just me everyone who knew you or didn't know you, even people who knew you just by your face were effected. You have no idea the impact you've had on everyone, people loved you, I loved you. You were, are, and forever will be one of my dearest friends. Travis Monroe : September 12th, 1989 - October 1st, 2006 Rest In Peace my friend, I hope you have finally found peace.

Innocent children belong to the Lord; our minds may be too feeble to comprehend all that has happened. Yet the justice of God is rich in mercy and the rich love of God cannot be totally explained. God loves us inspire of ourselves and our performance. I pray that the Lord place a hedge of protection around your family and that He cripples all ignorance directed toward you; may He be graceful to your family every moment that you need strength. When your strength runs out may His strength become yours? Never ever worry about where you stand with God because no man, women, boy or girl, no preacher or priest has ever satisfied God's requirement beyond believing in Him. He allows the sunshine to fall on the just as well as the unjust, and one day He will gather us all together and I promise we'll understand it better bye and bye.

Christy - Words cannot express to you the loss and sadness I feel over Travis' death. My heart aches for you and your family. There never was a more devoted mother to any child and I so loved to watch you "in action" with Travis. Please take heart to know he is now at peace somewhere watching over you. He knew his mother loved him dearly and he loved you back no matter what. Treasure the memories of the good days, and we had many. Treasure the days we had on the chase as well!!! Though the number of days may not be as great as we wanted Travis knew how to live them right and enjoyed each and every one from dawn to dusk. For that we can be greatful. Know you are in my prayers.
