Virginia Tanca Obituary
HOLLYWOOD - Virginia D. (Downs) Tanca, 81, died Tuesday, May 20, 2014 in Hospice by the Sea after a period of declining health. Her husband of 57 years, Vanghel P. Tanca, died in 2010.
She leaves a son, Wayne D. Tanca; a daughter, Lynn A. Tesauro and her husband William L. Tesauro, all of Hollywood; 2 granddaughters, Jessica Tanca and Lyda Tesauro; a brother, Robert Downs of Needham Heights, MA; nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, Richard A. Downs.
She was born in Northbridge, MA and raised in Douglas, MA, the daughter of Harry and Mary Elizabeth (Balcome) Downs. She lived in North Grosvenordale, CT, Webster and Dudley before moving to Florida in the 1960's. She graduated from Douglas High School.
Mrs. Tanca was a travel agent for many years. She was a member of Saint Andrew's Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed sewing and knitting.
A graveside service will be held Saturday, May 24, at 11:00 AM in West Thompson Cemetery, Thompson, CT. The family will receive relatives and friends from 6:00 to 9:00 PM Friday, May 23, in the Sitkowski & Malboeuf Funeral Home, 340 School Street, Webster, MA.
