Walter Gonzales Obituary

Walter A. Gonzales, 50, of North Grafton, passed away peacefully Friday, September 16th 2011 with family gathered at his side. Walter is survived by his fiancée, Frances Sclar with whom he lived; his two daughters, Justina Gonzalez and Alicia Cotto; his mother, Lydia Pillot; four sisters, Maria Gonzalez, Ivette Gonzalez, Sol Santiago and Sonia Vega; a grandson, Deonte McClain: many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Two brothers, Virgilio and Luis Gonzalez pre deceased him. Walter was born in Ponce, Puerto Rico; his father was the late Virgilio Gonzalez, Sr. and has lived in Worcester since arriving in 1984. Walter worked for BJ's Warehouse Company over 21 years as a Department Manager. He was still working at the time of his death. Walter was a devoted family man who found his greatest inspiration with his family and his friends. He loved to dance, watch sports especially the New York Yankees and New England Patriots. Friends and relatives are invited to visit with the family from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday, September 20th in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. A service will follow at 7 p.m. Burial will take place Wednesday at 11 a.m. in Hope Cemetery.

Uncle Walter, You are a CHAMPION!!! I am so happy that we spent time together. You were always a gentleman that took care of his family, a great provider.
