It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Julian (Bud) How on November 16, 2025, at the age of 94.
Born in La Grange, Illinois, Bud spent most of his life in the Chicago area, with a six-year stint in northern Kentucky, before retiring to Tellico Village in 1995. Bud and Diane, his beloved bride of 70 years, loved Tellico Village, where they had many cherished friends and were long-time members of the Tellico Village Community Church. Bud spent his final years at The Neighborhood assisted living community in Tellico Village, where he found much love and comfort among the caring staff and other residents.
Bud was loved for his caring and generous spirit by all who knew him. He accomplished much in his life while maintaining a wonderful sense of humor. He could always be counted on for a good story or a piece of advice. Bud graduated from Beloit College in Wisconsin, then served in the Navy as a junior officer assigned to a destroyer shortly after the Korean War. His professional career spanned over 30 years with Signode Corporation, retiring as the corporate head of Human Resources. Bud enjoyed spending time with his children and volunteering for needy causes. He coached many little league baseball and basketball games, lent his business experience and acumen to the YMCA, and volunteered his time at The Good Samaritan Center in Lenoir City. His joy for each day was contagious and will be missed.
Bud was predeceased by his wife, Diane and is survived by son John (Kim) How, son Peter (Karen) How, daughter Julie (Greg) Blank, 6 adoring grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held for family members.
