Linda Eddins Obituary

Linda Elyn Nelms Eddins, 69, Tellico Village, died Nov. 1, 2022.

Linda was born March 10, 1953, in Chicago, Ill., and grew up in Addison, Ill. She was the loving and appreciative wife of Robert Eddins; loving mother of Michael (Maureen), Mark (Megan) and Jeff (Katie); and extremely grateful and devoted grandma of five grandchildren, Peter Elijah, Samuel John, Silas Michael, Lucy Faith and Cooper James.

Linda was committed to her faith in God and actively involved in Two Rivers Church in Lenoir City and the women's Bible study group. She served as a volunteer at Good Neighbors Shoppe in Lenoir City and with Smoky Mountain Service Dogs. She enjoyed the beauty of east Tennessee through hiking and particularly boating on Tellico Lake with family and friends. She loved to dance and travel. She was active in Tellico Village, participating in line dancing, pickleball, wine club, games group and other activities. For 17 years, she served as a nurse and school nurse.

Linda will be remembered for her steadfast faith in God and her devotion to her husband and family.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Patricia Nelms.

In addition to her loving husband, children and their spouses, and grandchildren, Linda leaves behind siblings Judy, Joyce (Al), Russell, Chuck (Bonnie), Bobbi and Melissa (Brian); and many nieces and nephews. She rejoices that she will be united with her family again in heaven.

A celebration of life will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 3, 2022, at Two Rivers Church in Lenoir City. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. She was cremated and will be buried Friday, Dec. 2, in the East Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery in Knoxville.

In lieu of flowers, the family appreciates donations to Smoky Mountain Service Dogs.

Some nuggets of wisdom from Linda on Oct. 13, 2022:

"I'm very excited to be able to speak to all of you. I have had so many conversations with God over the past year, and my takeaway is this. He has said to me:

Have no malice in your heart.

Always choose kindness.

Do not judge; let God take care of that.

If God nudges you to do something - reach out to someone, visit someone - just stop what you are doing and do it.

When this terrible cancer process started, I prayed to God for extraordinary and supernatural peace that can only come from him - peace that surpasses all human understanding. And he actually granted it.

I just want to tell you that God has chosen all of us and really wants all of us to live with him in heaven for eternity. If you have not, please consider accepting Jesus as your personal Savior today. There are many people here who can pray with you and continue praying with you into the future. God bless you all."
