Marcia Bottenhorn
Born: Sep 5, 1945 | Died: Nov 15, 2025
Marcia Gail Greene Bottenhorn went home to heaven on the evening of November 15, 2025 at the age of 80.
Born on September 5, 1945 in Pensacola, Florida, to James Roy and Velma Zellene Cochran Greene, Marcia loved her hometown and the memories and lifelong friendships she formed there - from her days growing up on "B" Street and attending St. Stephen's parish, to her years as a student at Catholic High School.
She was a helper, inspired by seeing her dad stay late on Christmas Eve at the Auto-Lec store he managed, making sure everyone had gotten the presents they had on layaway to be ready for Christmas morning. She always loved a crowd, and became the mom of five - guaranteeing a house filled with the chaos and noise on which she thrived! She later earned her business degree at Georgia State University, going on to work in medical management, and starting a consulting business helping practitioners focus on their medical calling while she streamlined their operations. She retired to Tellico Village, where she found a new crowd in her beloved Footloose in Tellico Line Dancing Club; the Daughters of the American Revolution, General William Lenoir Chapter in Tennessee; and her church.
She is survived by her husband, Jim Bottenhorn; her five children, Brian Bascle and wife Jane, Brett Bascle, Ben Bascle, Amy Scott and husband Steven, and Abby Jartos and husband Jason; four stepsons, Chris, Kevin, Eric, and Greg Bottenhorn; her grandchildren, Michael, Teresa, Syd, Ira, Reagan, Logan, Parker, Coco, and Phineas; great-granddaughter, Rory; her cherished dog, Nadia; and countless friends from throughout her life.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and her grandmother, Lula Louise Landrum Merritt.
Even more than she loved a crowd, she loved Jesus - and we know she is enjoying her welcome home party with Him - balloons and all.
