Barbara Lynn Darden Stewart

Springfield - Barbara Lynn Darden Stewart, peacefully entered into her eternal rest on Friday, January 19, 2018 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee. She entered this life on April 6, 1946 in Robertson County. She was born to the late Essie Lee Gaines Darden and the late Homer Darden Jr. of Springfield, TN. She was the granddaughter of the late Fannie Mae Darden and the late Homer Darden Sr. of Springfield, TN. She was preceded in death by her parents, Essie Lee Gaines Darden and Homer Darden Jr.; her husband, General Doyle Stewart; her sister, Sandra Brown; her uncles, James Robert (Babe) Darden, John (Maggie) Murphy, and her aunts, Emma (M.B) Chapman and Mary Darden; brother-in-law Thomas Stewart.

Barbara was a devoted member of the Mother Board at New Wells Grove Missionary Baptist Church. She was educated at Bransford High School in Springfield, TN. Soon after graduation, she worked many years as an assembly/repair tech at Atwood in Greenbrier, TN. She later retired from Housekeeping at Springfield Inn, in Springfield, TN.

She leaves to cherish her memory: sons, Derrick (Christy) Patterson, Reginald (Vanessa) Darden of Springfield, TN; step-daughters, Felicia Stewart of Springfield, TN; and Regina (Elgin) Bailey of Goodlettsville, TN; grandchildren, Delicia, Deionna, Coshiani, Dayvon, Tre'Vion, Sinterica, Jasmine, Breonna and Tionna; great-granddaughter, Brooklyn, brother, Paul (Elizabeth) Darden of Hendersonville, TN; brother-in-law, Delmar (Louise) Stewart of Springfield, TN; sister-in-law, Drucilla Stewart of Springfield. TN; uncle, L.C. Darden of Springfield; aunt, Bessie Mae Jones of Springfield; , and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral was Saturday, January 27, 2018 at 12:00 noon at First Baptist Church with Pastor Garry Jones, Officiant/Eulogy; Interment was in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West
