To Jock, Staci and Tehlor.
Just a few words that hopefully will encorage you to continue the legacy that Chantay started. She was a true soldier for the Lord. A prayer partner that has made me the better person that I am today. Chantay has many hats that she has fulfilled to the fullest. Keep your head up because she was the type of wife, mother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend that anyone would want to pattern their lives after. Please know that I loved her from the beginning of our meeting to the end on this side of the river. She will forever be in my heart. If there is anything that I can help or be of assistance in any way please please please do not hesitate to call me.

Forever sincere

Chantay was a such a loving person with a kind a giving spirit. Her personality was one that reflected a genuine love for others. The thing I remember most about Chantay is her creativity and her God given talent to decorate--she could beautify an empty room in a matter of moments! Her boundless energy even during her illness will always remain in our memories. I am truly saddened by her transition but I know that God will continue to keep her family and loved ones.

To the Steptoe-Buford Family,

As my line sister, Chantay always had a
vibrant smile, words of encouragement and something humorous to say. That's how I'll remember her.

Recently, I lost my Mother (in May) and Chantay sent me a loving card and email. She was always a supportive, kind and loving human being.

Please know that she is at peace and she will always be with us in spirit. I will always treasure the memories that I have of her.

May God Bless You and I'll keep you in my prayers,

Sincerely,

On behalf of myself and the congregation of the First United Cumberland Presbyterian Church in America (CPCA) of Birmingham (Pratt City), Alabama, we would like to extend our deepest , heartfelt sympathy to each of you during this time of loss. While we cannot say to you that we know how you feel because we truly don't, we can say to you in the words of the Psalmist from the word of GOD that "For HIS anger endureth but a moment; in HIS favour is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning." To Chantay's family: may your hearts be comforted by knowing how deeply Chantay touched so many people. Her love knew no boundaries, her smile was a bright as the sunshine and her warmth could be felt across a room. She did so much for so many and asked for nothing in return. May we all strive to live life as fully as Chantay did.

Chantay was really a special individual. In the 7 years that I worked with her, I was happy to see her every time I saw her because she always had such a wonderful smile. She never seemed to expect life to be perfect -- she just worked through it with a grace and joy that most of us really don't have. She was funny, always full of good advice, too. This is just so sad. I'm sorry.
