Mr. Clyde Pewitt, age 88 of Franklin, TN passed away August 26, 2016.
Veteran of the U.S. Navy. Owner & Operator with Elbert "Duck" Pewitt of Pewitt Brothers Tune & Tire Service. Member of Grassland Heights Baptist Church. He served as Williamson County Commissioner for many years. Member of the Mason Hiram Lodge #7 and Williamson County Jaycees.
Preceded in death by parents, Johnnie Moore & Sarah Frances Sullivan Pewitt; wife, Hazel Bradley Pewitt; mother of his children, Judith Church Pewitt; siblings, Elmer, Albert & Elbert Pewitt, Ann Ashlee Dugan, Lucille Moran & Virginia Meacham. Survived by wife, Virginia Fisher Pewitt; sons, Johnnie Clyde (Nancy) Pewitt & Jere D. (Linda) Pewitt; daughters, Linda Pewitt & Suzanne (Bobby) Bratcher; grandchildren, Bryan (Erin) Pewitt, Jennifer Pewitt, Holly (Nathan) Koogler, Jeremy (Mica) Pewitt, Sharon (William) Crabtree, John (LeMai) Taylor, Amber (Dave) Huegel, Josh (Carolyn) Bratcher & Abbey Bratcher and ten great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held 11:00AM Tuesday, August 30, 2016 at Williamson Memorial Funeral Home, Jim Taylor officiating. Burial will follow in Williamson Memorial Gardens. Johnnie Pewitt, Jeremy Pewitt, Bryan Pewitt, Bobby Bratcher, Josh Bratcher, Nathan Koogler, William Crabtree and Jere Pewitt will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers: Dr. John Dixon, Dr. Jeff Bethurum, Billy Knight, Paul Pearre, Jimmy Sullivan, Fleming Williams, Louise Lynch & Jena Crawford. Memorials may be made to the Dementia Society of America, P.O. Box 600, Doylestown, PA 18901. Visitation will be 5-7PM Monday and one hour prior to the service at Williamson Memorial Funeral Home.
