Age 21 of Nashville, TN, passed away on November 26, 2014.

Cory was born in Marietta, GA on August 20, 1993.

Cory was a junior at Belmont University where he was following his passion and love for music. His piercing brown eyes, infectious smile and somewhat "off color" artistry made him the perfect son, brother & friend.

He was very much loved by many and will never be forgotten.

Survivors include his loving parents, Marc & Susan Bertrand; siblings, Blayne, Jessie & Jeremy Bertrand; grandparents, Ed & Evelyn Gambill, and Richard & Madeline Bertrand; aunts, Karen (Pat) McKinney, Janet Bertrand & Christine Bertrand; uncles, Jeff Gambill, Gary (Lara) Gambill, Jim (Ruth Ann) Bertrand & multiple cousins.

The Bertrand family will receive friends on Saturday, November 29, 2014 from 10 a.m. - 11 a.m., at Harpeth Hills Funeral Home, where a Memorial service/celebration of Cory's life will be conducted at 11 a.m.

Cory Gambill Bertrand was my second grandchild, a grandson who gave me and my wife the pleasures of watching him grow, watching him learn, watching him play baseball under the tutelage of his adoring father/coach, Marc and from the stands being encouraged and cheered by his equally adoring mother, Susan, watching him develop in his love of music and grow and develop into a wonderful young adult pursuing his education at Belmont College. These and many other memories of Cory being in my life will be cherished forever. His tragic and untimely passing has left a void and a hurt in my heart, and in the hearts of many, that will take years, if ever, to heal. Let the healing begin as we summon the strength of our faith in God to carry on without Cory in our lives but at the same time keeping our memories of him forever in our hearts. Love, Pepa Gambill.

I'm so sorry and heartbroken to hear the devastating news about Cory. I coached Cory during middle school age and I enjoyed every moment of it! The first memory I have of Cory is him not yet having the confidence to shoot baskets. After coaching him a little bit he finally shot his first one, and after that there was no turning back! I remember him looking right at me with that million dollar smile spread from ear to ear! The world lost a wonderful young man, but heaven gained a super star! Cory was the first person to talk to me when I was afraid and alone as a transfer student at Belmont. He made me smile and laugh everyday I walked into class. He was an absolute joy to spend time with. I've never known such a hopeful and positive individual. My prayers go out to Cory's family. Cory was in my first period class at Belmont. I noticed he wasn't there today
but did not know why. After class is when I heard of his accident. He was
always smiling and such a happy warm
person. He is truly missed. You all
