David Lee Whitesell - Age 58 of White Bluff, TN passed away November 2, 2016.
A Gathering of family and friends were held on Monday, November 7, 2016 from 4-8pm at Taylor Funeral Home.
Family also received friends on Tuesday, November 8, 2016 beginning at 11am with a Celebration of David's Life beginning at 1pm from First Baptist Church Dickson with Dr. Mike Miller officiating. Entombment followed in Dickson County Memorial Gardens, Chapel of Prayer Mausoleum.
David "Big Dave" Whitesell was a true man of God. He was a faithful and devoted member of First Baptist Church. The love he expressed to all who knew him was unconditional and he will always be known as an encourager. David loved to talk and never met a stranger. His smile, his laugh and his wit was infectious.
He grew up in Nashville and was educated from elementary school through college at David Lipscomb. He graduated with a Bachelors of Art in Ministry. From the early age of 10, David gained his passion for hunting, fishing and the outdoors from his father. When David and his wife, Donna moved to Dickson County over 20 years ago they knew this…was home. David thoroughly enjoyed farming and was a great cook. For the past 12 years, David was a Real Estate Broker. Most recently with Lifestyles Reality.
David is preceded in death by his daughter, Kimberly Gayle Buice; father, V.M. Whitesell and brother, Bob Whitesell.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 23 years, Donna Lyon Whitesell of White Bluff, TN; daughter, Stephanie Whitesell Hermitage, TN; son-in-law, Tommy Buice of Fairview, TN; grandchildren, T.J. Buice, Jacob Austin, Lydia Buice and Kylee Buice; mother, Lois Whitesell of Edmond, OK; brother, Wayne Whitesell of Edmond, OK; sisters, Pam Hendrix of Lyon, France and Barbara Engle of Hilo, HI as well as many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.

My heart is saddened by David's passing & I pray for God to comfort you, & surround you with His presence in these days and those to come.
David, though I knew him only a short time, was a blessing & joy.
In the Lifestyles Nashville office I had the honor to spend a fair amount of time chatting with him while training him on our new system and talking business/contracts.
He was the kindest heart in listening, and giving an uplifting word.
David always had a compliment to hand out to brighten our day there as well.
I am thankful for those days. He truly was a blessing.
My deepest sympathy to all of you.

To David's family:
I will never forget the first time I met David as a new agent at the Crye-Leike office in Bellevue while I was a closing agent with Realty Title, and the first thing he said upon our introduction was "You are going to be seeing a lot of me here very soon!" And I did. What a good-hearted man - he loved his family, friends and clients and was so pleasant to be around. I will truly miss him.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you Donna! Know that though I cannot be there in person, I will be there in spirit. There are no words to ease your sorrow at this time. We comfort ourselves with the memories of David in childhood; all geared up for hunting; water skiing behind Dad's boat; as well as the man David grew to be - husband and father!
