Their funerals were conducted Monday February 27, 2017 at 2 PM from the Chapel of the Taylor Funeral Home with Rev. Dale Mills officiating. Place of rest was in the Hutton Cemetery in White Bluff.

Mr. Elbert Earl "Buck" Cathey age 86 and Mrs. Lavon C. Cathey age 80 both of Craggie Hope, TN died Tuesday February 21, 2017. Mr. Elbert was born in Craggie Hope, TN and was the son of the late Arch and Vivian Rowland Cathey and Mrs. Lavon was born in Kansas City, MO. Mr. Cathey retired from Consolidated Freight Ways as a Maintenance Engineer and was also an Inventor and owned his own company Cathey Power Innovations and was a U.S. Army veteran. Mrs. Cathey had worked for Proctor and Gamble and later as a Legal Secretary. Both were members of the Craggie Hope First United Methodist Church.

They are survived by their daughters, Tiffany Jo Johnson of St. Joseph, MO and Carol Ann Harris; grandchildren, Joshua Johnson, Courtney Johnson, Jordan Harris, Jeremy Harris, and Mr. Cathey's sister, Wilma Cathey of Kirksville, MO.
