Helen Golter Obituary

Helen Hall Golter

Nashville, TN

Helen Hall Golter was an investor in life, her family, and her community. Her life began August 26, 1929 in Houston, Texas as daughter Mattie Loraine Brown and Anthony Morris Hall. Her home, from 1957 until her death November 28, 2015, was Nashville, Tennessee. The surviving family includes Bob J Golter, her husband of 67 years, son Gregory Hall Golter and his wife Patricia Ann Golter, Jeanette Loraine Golter and her husband Glenn Albert Schnittke III, Katherine Janice Cox and her husband Roy William Cox. Grandchildren: Joshua Daniel Pearcy (wife Amy Hagan Stedeford Pearcy), Tristan Hall Golter, Trevor Thomas Golter, and Lucrecia Bella Luna Cox..

Once the children were in school, Helen became a licensed residential realtor, a role she continued in for 43 years. Working first with Joel Riggs and Company and last with Worth Properties, selling or managing, she viewed it a 'calling' to help people find and secure the right home. In all, she was an advocate for professionalism in real estate.

Working with boards and agencies and non-profit organizations such as the Lung Association and the YWCA, she made a significant contribution to the present and and future of the Nashville community. Her love for art led her to serve as docent at

Cheekwood and Schermerhorn Symphony Center. She took every opportunity to travel,

seriously studying the people, their history and social structures, their art, aspirations

and needs.

In keeping with her values, she donated her body to Vanderbilt Medical School to serve its research and training.

Helen Hall Golter's Memorial will be held on the grounds of Cheekwood
