John E. "Johnnie" BREEDEN obituary, NASHVILLE, TN

John BREEDEN Obituary

BREEDEN, John E. "Johnnie"Age 80 of Brentwood, TN. March 30, 2012. Preceded in death by his son, Kyle Breeden; and parents, Philip & Mary Breeden. He was a member of Crieve Hall Church of Christ. After 40 years, Dr. Breeden retired as Professor of Biology at David Lipscomb University and John A. Gupton College. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Orene Brooks Breeden; daughter, Michele Breeden; son, Keith (Kristie) Breeden; grandchildren, Blake & Grayson Breeden; and sister, Faye (Jimmy) Baldwin. Visitation will be Sunday, April 1, 2012, from 1-5 p.m. at Woodbine Funeral Home, HICKORY CHAPEL, 5852 Nolensville Road and Monday from 9-10 a.m. at the church. Funeral services will be conducted Monday, April 2, 2012 at 10 a.m. at Crieve Hall Church of Christ, 4806 Trousdale Dr., by Tom Holland, Bill Watkins & Wavell Stewart. Interment Cedar Hill Cemetery, Erin, TN. Active Pallbearers: Blake Breeden, Grayson Breeden, Jimmy Baldwin, Archie Brooks, Robert Brooks, Wavell Stewart, Phil Choate, Anthony Turner, Keith Ericson & Doug Wright. Honorary Pallbearers: The Dinner Club, Tuesday Morning Bible Class, and Lipscomb University Biology Department. Memorial contributions may be made to Kyle Breeden Memorial Scholarship Fund at David Lipscomb University, World Christian Broadcasting, Churches of Christ Disaster Relief Effort, Inc. or Eastern European Missions. Dr. Breeden was a great American and a fine Biology professor. He was my adviser the full four years I was at Lipscomb. He never steered me wrong.
Loved his Environmental class.
