Jonathan Pierce Hildreth

Nashville - Jonathan Pierce Hildreth went to be with the Lord on May 9, 2020. He was 52 years old and passed due to an extended illness.

Jonathan was a Christian and began his life in Odessa, TX where he was full of adventure and loved to sing and to design; his two greatest passions. He first gained vocal experience singing in the church at the age of seven. He later studied under the same vocal coach that taught Larry Gatlin and the Gatlin Brothers. Jonathan followed his sister, Deborah, to Nashville and started singing with the renowned Christ Church Choir while concurrently honing his craft of interior design with Lanny Gardner Interiors. Naomi Judd heard his vocal talents and introduced him to the Imperials. After performing for three years with them, he moved on to the Gaither Vocal Group, all-the-while releasing a host of solo albums under the name of Jonathan Pierce. Wanting to expand his creativity and try something a little different, he took a starring role as Joseph in the touring Broadway play in Nashville, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. After many Dove Award Nominations later, he really stretched his creativity into the interior design world when he was chosen as the lead designer for CMT's Ultimate Country Home series when he guided many country music greats through 13 episodes, filming the remodel of a 3,600 s.f. house and adding their 'special touch'.

Jonathan never really publicized his work as a designer prior to this but after his singing career was shifting gears, his talent and popularity began to soar in the design industry and that lead to his own show on HGTV called Interiors, Inc., which was filmed right out of his own design studio, Pierce & Company, in Nashville, Tennessee. It was during all this that Jonathan did design and interiors for some of the most well-known people in the country and some of the most prestigious properties in Nashville and around the country. As running a larger design firm with sometimes as many as 15 employees can do, it was really starting to pull on his health so he and his family felt that, for his future, it was time for him to start scaling back. He had such a fun-loving personality and was generous to a fault. He was out-going and was definitely a "people person" but the rigors of success can take a toll on a mind and a body.

Jonathan is survived by his father, Jack Hildreth of Franklin, TN, his sister Deborah (Dave) Cook of Columbia, TN and his sister Adryan Hildreth of Franklin, TN. He also leaves behind two nephews, Daxtyn P. Cook and Anijah Hildreth and 2 nieces, Aaliyah Waters and Asani Kinnard. Survivors also near to Jonathan's heart are special friends Mary Francis Rudy and Denise Jones and his fur-babies, Louie and Avery. Jonathan was preceded in death by his mother, Louann Hildreth, a brother, Daniel Hildreth and a sister, Candace Hildreth.

His family would like to thank everyone for all the kind words and also for citing some of their favorite memories of him and his performances. He touched a lot of people in so many ways and we know that he is looking down on us, smiling in the presence of the Lord. He will truly be missed by all that new him.
