Kenneth Zahn Obituary

Kenneth Lawrence (Larry) Zahn

Nashville, TN

Kenneth Lawrence (Larry) Zahn, a 44-year resident in the greater-Nashville/Goodlettsville area passed away in Nashville, Saturday, October 1st , 2016, surrounded by his father and loving sisters. Born in Tucson, Arizona March 11, 1956, Larry was a talented and self-taught electronics repairman, machinist, auto mechanic, and guitarist early in his life, and later a skilled carpenter, wood-carver, and construction supervisor. He could trouble-shoot almost any mechanical or machine-related equipment system and devise an effective repair. His steadfast support of friends was boundless, as was his love for the grandeur, serenity, and seasonal beauty of both the Tennessee woodlands and the Rocky Mountain West. He grew up in Arizona, Germany, Alabama, Illinois, Utah, New York, and Kansas, settling in Tennessee in 1971.

Larry was an accomplished outdoorsman and survivor, but struggled in more recent years from the after-effects of extensive recoveries from severe skydiving and construction accidents that led to multiple bone reconstructions. He is survived by his father Col. (Ret.) Kenneth C. Zahn of MT and mother Jane M. Hunt of WA, sisters Karen Zahn-Anderson of WY and Heather Gardner of UT, stepmother Carol S. Zahn of MT, stepfather Col. (Ret.) John W. Hunt of WA, and many cousins, nephews, and nieces. Donations in Larry's memory may be made to New WineSkin Church, P.O. Box 31412, Clarksvillle, TN 37040 ([email protected]). Distribution of ashes will be done by his family at places Larry loved.
