Paul Fink Obituary

Paul William Fink

Paul William Fink, age 72 of Bon Aqua, TN, died on May 15, 2015 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, Nashville, TN.

Born on October 17, 1942 in Lovell, WY, Mr. Fink attended school and graduated from high school in Byron, WY. After graduation, he worked for the Great Western Sugar Plant in Lovell, WY before marrying in 1964 and having three sons.

Moving to Greybull, WY, he began his career with the Burlington Northern Railroad in 1971, primarily working in the Big Horn Basin, Wind River Canyon and Shoshoni, WY areas. He later moved with his family to Powell, WY, then Shoshoni where he ultimately made his home. He retired in 2000 from the Railroad, but continued to serve his community as a crossing guard for the local school district as a snow removal contractor, until his health declined.

He spent his remaining years in Tennessee where he could be closer to medical resources and family support. He was a lifelong member of the Lutheran Church, most recently at Trinity Lutheran Church in Riverton, WY. He enjoyed playing basketball, gardening, traveling with and to see family and friends and was an avid Denver Broncos Football fan. He also loved the constant companionship of his faithful miniature dachshunds, Sunshine, Brutus, and Tinker Bell, who gave him great comfort in his later years.

Mr. Fink is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ann (Waggoner) Fink; his parents, John D. Fink, Jr. and Dorothea (Miller) Fink; a brother, Daniel (Phyllis); and two sisters, Marie Louise Shawley and Linda Sachau.

He is survived by three sons and a daughter-in-law, John Paul and Cynthia of Bon Aqua, TN, Melvin Deo of Shoshoni, WY and David Harrison, who resides with his mother, Gerry Fink of Powell, WY; four grandchildren, John, Logan, J. D., and Allison, and "adopted" grandchild, Justin Jefferson; three brothers, Albert (LeRoyce) of Denver, CO, Edwin of Evansville, WY and Butch of Lovell, WY; two sisters, Lillian Hettinger of Lovell, WY and Hermina Hess of Gillette, WY; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 4 p.m. on Sunday, May 24, 2015 at the home of John and Cindy Fink in Bon Aqua, TN. A more formal Memorial Service will follow on August 15, 2015 in Riverton, WY to allow family members to gather and remember Paul.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial contributions be made to Trinity Lutheran Church, 419 E. Park Avenue, Riverton, WY 82501.
