MYERS, PhyllisAge 58. Born March 19, 1955, departed this earthly life Thursday, August 8, 2013. She leaves to cherish her memory, a very devoted husband, Ronald Myers; three children, Dionne Hockett, Dorthea (Carl) Walker and Daniel (LaRhonda) Springer; seven grandchildren, Brien, Teia, Daniel and Dason Springer, Ashley and Evan Walker and Courtney Hockett; great grandchildren, Samuel Springer and Courion Partee; one brother, James (Annice) Springer, Jr.; sisters, Linda (Bernard) Turner, Janet (Michael) Ross, Roslyn (Thomas) Davis; devoted cousins, Ora Mai Smith, Virginia Gardner and family, Marcia Wade and Kenneth Etter; a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends. Family visitation Wednesday, August 14, 2013 at 6 p.m., at the Saint James Missionary Baptist Church, 600 28th Avenue North, Nashville, Tennessee. Services immediately following at 7 p.m., Reverend George T. Brooks, Sr., officiating. Interment Middle Tennessee State Cemetery Thursday, August 15, 2013. Phyllis was dear to me, we sat across from one another at work, at one point and were there to give each other words of encourage many times, anyone who knew her couldn't help but love her she was a very sweet lady and her smile was contagious,when we met a few weeks ago she was the first person to stand and give me a hug,I will cherish that hug forever. Phyllis, I'm going to miss you my friend. I will always cherish the wonderful times that we spent together at work, along with the amazing stories about your family. You loved your family so much. You laughed when I called you "Miss Jenkins", because everybody loved "Miss Jenkins" on t.v. EVERYBODY loved you too because of your caring heart & beautiful personality. Thanks for being my friend.
