Bobby was trully an inspiration to me and to anyone that ever came in contact with him. I will never forget the time I had with him and how much he influenced my guitar playing as well as a person. Bobby, you are/were one of a kind and will be greatly missed here. My prayers go out to Jimmy and Mark; I cannot wait until we play together again. I know you are with our Lord now!!
I love you Bobby!!

Bobby was one of the most brilliant people I've ever known. His wit,
wisdom, musicianship, and intrinsic kindness were always inspiring to
me. I had the absolute honor of working many recording sessions with
him, and he never failed to inspire. Rest easy, Brother Bobby, you've
earned it. We'll always love you. Glenn Worf

Jimmy and Mark, a couple of months ago our Sunday School class watched a video of the 3rd BBQ dinner when your Dad played with Ken Alfrey and Jim. Brought back lots of nice memories. Your Dad was a very talented man. Brian sends his condolences to you both and especially to Jimmy. Love from your Mafair Family, Jim and Gail

Like most other sidemen and studio musicians in Nashville, Bobby never sought fame or the spotlight and his genius will never be fully appreciated. For the most part, his name is known only by a few of his peers in the music business but beyond that he will remain virtually unkown. I have always had a soft spot for these kinds of musicians and I take joy in knowing that in heaven where Bobby is now, he is a star and is being richly rewarded for using his talents to glorify God and giving the rest of us much pleasure. I'm honored to have known him and priviledged to have had him as producer and friend. Bobby's family and all the great muscians who worked with him daily are in my prayers. We will all miss him greatly.

My thoughts and prayers are with Bobby's family and friends. We have lost a truly talented man whose love of music was contagious. I am honored to have known him and to have his special "touch" on my song. Heaven's music is sweeter!
