I don't know what possed me to look up Mr. Rhodes. He was one of my favorite teachers at Rosepark Middle School decades ago, no, he was my very favorite teacher of all time. I wish I could have told him that.

Coach Rhodes (as he is fondly remembered by his players, students and others who knew him) was always a joy to behold. My first encounter with him was at TSU basketball games "helping" Coach Ed Martin coach the Tiger Basketball teams, except Coach Rhodes was coaching from the sidelines-so animated and so into the game. Coaching and caring for the players was one of the joys of his life. To Ms. Blanch, Chris and the rest of his family, you have my sincere prayers and condolences.

Condolences to the Rhodes Family. Coach was an awesome man who cared about children. I had the opportunity to sit beside him for several years while coaching basketball at Whites Creek. He kept me at the store trying to find a new suit, because Coach stayed clean. He always greeted me with a "Heeeey Baby"....
Rest well, my friend!
