Shawn Burnham Obituary
Nashville - Shawn James Burnham was born on September 11, 1976 in Pittsfield, Massachusetts to James and Annette Burnham. Shawn passed away on August 29, 2018 after a long illness.
Shawn lived in upstate NY, Tulsa, OK, Ellicott City, MD, Los Angeles, CA, Knoxville, TN, and finally, Nashville TN. Wherever he lived, he made good friends. In the 1990's, he was involved with BMX riding, and competed throughout the U.S. In 2000, he returned home to live. Health problems stemming from concussions and injuries received while riding bikes started to take a toll, and he struggled after that. He was able to attain a degree in web design, and worked sporadically as his health would allow until his death.
Left to remember him are his parents, grandparents, and an extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins, and a fiance.
The family would like to thank the Vanderbilt and St. Thomas medical systems for their attempts to help Shawn. In particular, we would like to thank Siloam Health and their wonderful, caring staff for their support of Shawn over the last ten years.
A memorial service will be held Saturday at 3:30 PM at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 1550 Bell Rd, Nashville, TN.

We are over here in California and when I read about your son/fiancé I was truly touched as I am a few months younger than him. Thank you for putting the difficult details into his obituary, so that young ones can take to heart their decisions. It's so easy to take for granted our health when we are young and can't foresee the outcome. Reading about him, might just save someone else. I'm really glad that he served Jehovah, as a parent there is immeasurable comfort in knowing he is safe in the memory of our Grand Creator and restorer of life. We look forward to your special reunion where your 1st embrace will be one knowing that you'll NEVER lose him again. What a time to look forward to! ❤

So sorry for your loss,I didn't really know Shawn but I am sure he was a fine young man. As the WT mentioned Sunday Jehovah knew Shawn and will be remembered by him in the resurrection, my prayers are with you both.

I have no words for the pain your feeling. Just tears. Even though I haven't spoken with Shawn in over 30 years, I know he was a kind and loving person. No parent should ever see they're child fall asleep in death. We weep with you because your pain must be unbearable.
