Sidney Hodges Obituary

HODGES, Sidney L. Educator and businessman, dies at age 82, January 29, 2010. Sidney Hodges was preceded in death by his parents; his devoted wife of fifty-two years, Dorothy Jarrett Hodges; sisters, Leontyne Harris, Edma Howard and Mildred Powell; brother, Earl Hodges. Those who live to cherish his loving memory are his son, Anthony (Patricia) Hodges, Sr.; daughters, Patricia (Antoinne) Able and Valerie (Suleiman) Aziz; grandsons, Anthony Hodges, Jr., Ahmed Aziz, Paul Hodges and Jameel Aziz; sisters, Donna Woods and Rosalind Gordon; brother, John (Birdie) Hodges; sisters-in-law, Gwendolyn Odom, Joyce Hargrove, Ervina Jarrett, Josie Jarrett, Victoria Jarrett; brothers-in-law, Henry Jarrett and Rev. John Jarrett; devoted niece, Rev. Gwendolyn (Pixy) Langley; god-daughter, Jennifer Inman; devoted family friends, Sherry Bowins, Kathy Jo White, Joann Bentley, Louise Gipson, Leonard Davenport and Terry Corn; friends, former co-workers, and a host of nieces and nephews. He may be viewed Friday, February 5, 2010 from 12 Noon to 6 p.m., at Davis-Campbell-McClain Funeral Home, 1404 Jefferson Street. Family visitation Saturday, February 6, 2010 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., at St. Luke CME Church, 2008 Ed Temple Blvd. Funeral service to follow. Rev. Dr. Ronald Powe, Pastor.
