Thomas C. NORFLEET

NORFLEET, Thomas C. Born July 29, 1943; died May 27, 2011. Mr. Norfleet was a graduate of East Nashville Senior High School. He then served for four years in the United States Navy at the US Naval Station in Mayport, FL, and then worked, for nearly 15 years, at the TN Carolina Transport Lines. Mr. Norfleet graduated with honors from Aquinas College, Belmont University, MTSU, and TSU. He taught English and Latin for over 20 years and had been a prominent educator in the state of Tennessee. His students consistently won prestigious awards under his tutelage. Thomas was active for many years in the Nashville Pro Musica, and a member of the Downtown Presbyterian Church. Thomas Norfleet is survived by his sister, Martha Norfleet Philo; numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and countless long-time friends and colleagues who will miss his wit and companionship dearly!
