Todd Milsap Obituary

Todd Milsap

Antioch - Todd Milsap, 49, passed away Saturday, February 23rd, on his beloved houseboat at Four Corners Marina.

To describe Todd is no easy task. There is simply no one like him. He was a force of nature, the likes of which this world will never see again. Unique is not a big enough word to describe him. He was creative, loving, eccentric and very funny. His colorful sense of humor, quick wit and knack for one-liners would leave your sides hurting from laughing so hard. And he laughed often. If you knew Todd you probably spent a good portion of your time with him cracking up at the absurdity of life. He was a dare devil and thrill seeker from birth. His patient and generous parents put up with roof top pool jumps, motorcycles, go-carts, enormous half pipes in their yard (more than a few injuries) and the constant horde of teenagers enjoying them. A great cook, he hosted epic parties and loved nothing more than spending time with friends and family. He adored his children and encouraged them to be as unique as they wanted to be. Boating, fishing, camping, shopping and big fuzzy hats were probably his top 5 faves. Not necessarily in that order.

He worked as a concert promotor with his friend Leon Jackson in his early career before going on to spend the rest of his career in production management for his father, Ronnie Milsap.

He is survived by his parents, Ronnie and Joyce Milsap, Wife Yogi Milsap, children and bonus children, Kye Milsap, Mya Milsap, Wyler Milsap, Asher Milsap, Susy Jones, Victoria Piller and Zy Gagne, cousins, Allyson Reeves-Land, Jessi Shaw, Will Stone, Adam Stone, Uncle and Aunt Dr. Roy and Kay Powell, cousins Josh Powell, Lindsay Attaway, Andrew Powell, Uncle and Aunt Donald and Brenda Reeves, cousins Kim Campbell, Donna Atkins, Donnie Reeves, Paula Reeves, Aunt Mary Ruth Reeves, cousins Carol Cosgrove, Lynn Davis, Lisa Eure, Kelly Reeves, Dee Reeves, Tracy Waggoner and many other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by Grandparents Lewis and Pauline Reeves, Uncles Dennis Reeves, Billy Reeves and Terry Reeves.

Join us to celebrate the life of this truly one-of-a-kind man. A gathering of friends and family will be held on Tuesday February 26 from 4-7 at Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home. A celebration of life to be held at 2:30 pm at Woodlawn's Dignity Hall on Wednesday. Please visit our online obituary at woodlawn-roesch-pattonfh.com

Dear Ronnie and Joyce. I am sorry to hear about Todd. I have seen him only one time....when You were my neighbor in Memphis, in Red Oaks subdivision. my friends and I were skating in your driveway, andyou invited us in to visit. We sat in your living room, and Joyce, you warned Ronnie to not step on the baby. One of my friends who was with me was Nancy. She said you (Ronnie) were in Houston in the last year and she had contact with you. My other friend, Mary Anne, babysat Todd sometimes. My name in those days was Sheila Fitzgerald. I remember so well being at your house at the corner of Maplecrest andHornsby. I lived at the intersection of Boeingshire and Maplecrest. I wish I had visited you all much more often and gotten to know you better. I now live in northern Indiana and would love to hear from you and recall Red Oaks with you..... 574-256-5965 I tried to figure out a way to go to Todd's funeral, but my circumstances made it impossible. Hoping to talk to one of you or both of you sometime, Sheila

From an old friend in Lafayette Louisiana. I saw the note about Todd and my heart ached for you. As my dad said when we lost my sister, this is not normal. Ronnie you have brought so much joy to us with your music, I hope I can give you and your family a feeling of love in your time of grief. We're thinking and praying for all of you

Terry Traugott

March 3, 2019

Ronnie & Joyce,

Thinking of you today and every day. Hoping that each day gets a little lighter as we make the rest of our way through life.

I'm a firm believer in that everything happens for a reason, although I cannot say why this happened. We will be given the understanding in time for the things we don't understand here on earth and it will make perfect sense then, and only then. It's too complex for us here.

Todd has merely entered into another dimension of life, one where he has physically "been made still", yet his spirit lives on.

God is not in the business of trying to get us into hell, He's recruiting for Heaven! Nobody dies perfect, but we will be made perfect before entering the pearly gates of Heaven. He will see to that! Trust God and let Him take it from here.

Todd is in good Hands!

Love you both very much,

Terry Traugott & Sherry McCutcheon

What a beautifully written obituary for an obviously beautiful person. Love is written in every line. I wish I could have met him, for the description sounds a lot like my own philosophy of life. It is so very obvious how very much he was loved, and thus the sadness of his passing will be the greater. My sympathy to all those who were blessed to know, and share life with, Todd.

Just a fan.
