Tyler Alexander Schultz, age 24, passed away January 30, 2014.
Preceded in death by grandparents, Dallas and Gina Merryman.
Survived by father, Richard D. (Pam) Schultz; mother, Michelle Merryman Schultz; grandparents, Bill and Joan Schultz; uncles, Steve (Sherri) Merryman, Toby Merryman, Tom (Nelda) Schultz, Jack (Kristine) Schultz, Ray (Pat) Schultz, Bob, Jim (Kim) Schultz; aunts, Anne
Schultz, Beth (Christopher) Schultz-Weed; many cousins and other family members.
Tyler was a 2008 graduate of Hendersonville High School, a Senior Psychology major at MTSU.
Visitation with the family will be in the Chapel of First Baptist Church, Hendersonville, TN Sunday, 2-7 p.m., and funeral services Monday, February 3, 2014 at 1 p.m., in the Chapel of Hendersonville First Baptist Church, with Dr. Bruce Chesser officiating. His uncles will serve as Pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Tyler Alexander Schultz Scholarship Fund, c/o First Bank, 885 Conference Drive, Suite 100, Goodlettsville, TN 37072. Interment to follow at Beech Cumberland Presbyterian Cemetery.

I cant believe this happened. I had to look this up after last nights conversation of pain. I was shocked to learn of this passing even 4 years ago. I speak often of this tragedy. I just cant imagine losing a beautiful child. But I understand tremendous amount of pain. I am so sorry for your loss and the pain you feel.

Michelle and family,
A Healing Prayer to St. Jude
Most holy Apostle, St. Jude, I place myself in your care. Pray for me; help me remember that I am not alone in my struggles. Please join me in asking God to send me hope in my sorrow, courage in my fear, and healing in the midst of my challenges. Please ask our loving God to fill me with the grace to accept whatever my life holds and to strengthen my faith in His healing power. Thank you St. Jude, for the promise of hope you hold to all who believe, and inspire me to give this gift of hope to others. Amen.

Tyler was one of the first people I met when I moved to Hendersonville for school. He was a great guy and I enjoyed his company. I am really going to miss playing disc golf with him.

Tyler was one of my best friends. One of the few people in the world I knew I could go talk to about anything. He was so wise beyond his years, such a clever and creative person, and could talk about things in such a way that he could make your jaw drop. Such a powerful person, with so much life left to live, it pains me that I will never get to see him again. It's been over 2 years since I've seen him, but we've actively kept contact and shared music, books, and film with each other. There are things about him that have helped me shape who I am today, and for that I will never forget him. R.I.P Tyler, you have all the answers now and I've got to admit I'm kind of jealous. Love you buddy, I will always miss you.

Richard, Pam and all of the family. I am so sorry. Unexpected is so very hard. My family and I have you all in our prayers and thoughts. Tyler was a big help to me during my times of illness, he would always come in to talk to me and check on me after moving the lawn. He smile, boyish laughs, hugs and funny humor were a light.
