One of the best memories I have of Brother Baker is my ordination as a deacon at Saulsberry Baptist. This was thirty to forty years ago. Two chairs were placed at the front of the church facing a large crowd. Several pastors and deacons where invited to ask questions to me and the other candidate. Someone asked us what about women preaching in the church. I started my answer by saying churches would have to close the doors without women. They support the church in many ways. Brother Baker ended the question by stating if a woman had the call to preach that I got she would preach. No more questions on that subject.

Married by Brother Baker in 1964 and still going strong.

Brother Baker was the sweetest person. I will never forget him baptizeing me. The heating system on the pool was out & I had to stand on a milk crate. He knew I was afraid of water & he was so patient. Rest in peace you will truely be missed.

He was a man of small statue, but a giant in preaching God's word. He brought me to salvation when I was 10. Funny how you never forget when one is Baptized no matter how old you are. May you rest in peace Brother Baker ....
