Bill had a great smile and was always glad to see you. He made you feel important to him. That is a rare gift

Dear Gail and family,
We're saddened to hear of Bill's passing. To state the obvious, Bill was one of the finest people ever. We feel fortunate, indeed, to have known him and to call him our friend.
We'll always remember Bill's kindness, his gentle nature, and his thoughtfulness -- not to mention his determination. On a visit to St. Louis long ago, we were on a day trip in Missouri wine country during which Bill was plagued with excruciating back pain. Rather than letting this stop him from enjoying the outing, he took a short break to stretch out on the ground -- after which he was "up and at 'em again."
Bill leaves us with many cherished memories. We're so sorry we can't be there for the service, but please know that we'll be toasting Bill with some Miller Lite (in cans, of course.) : )
With our love and deepest sympathy,
Betty and Bob Mathieu

Nita and I met Bill back in 1977 and without a doubt he was one of the kindest men we've ever met. He never met a stranger and had a big heart. We tailgated for many years at the TITANS games and Bill's fondest moment was each season when all the service veterans were asked to stand, He was proud to have served his country as a Marine pilot. Bill touched the lives of many and all benefited. He will be missed.
