So sorry to learn of Bill's death. I remember many fun times when the family would gather and he would talk about our relitives that lived in the Sparta area. He was a fine man and his many years of service with the state was outstanding. Bill could get along with both the Democrats and Republicans, this is a lost art. He had honisty and that is missing with our public leaders. I always look at Bill as not only as a friend.

just learned of Bill's passing. He was a great man. an amazing man, and a gentleman and a friend. In the 1970s I had the honor and real privilege of working with Bill and trying to execute his vision and guidance through a number of national organizations. He was the epitome of everything that was wise and laudable in government finance and public service. Like many, many others I spent years trying to emulate him and follow the lessons he taught. He was a very special person.

Working in the Legislature during two different administrations I became very fond of this gentle man. A few months back I saw and spoke to him in Windel Smiths Restaurant. God bless his family and you are in my prayers. Sorry for your loss.
