Patricia Samiec Obituary
She was born in Corning, NY the daughter of Mary Herron Farrell and Donald Farrell, Sr.
She was employed as Assistant Service Manager with Leith Mercedes in Raleigh, NC. Pat possessed an exceptional ability to relate and connect with anyone she met. Her kindness and quick-witted humor lit up the room, and all who knew her will remember her infectious smile fondly. A tremendous fighter she left this world on her on terms. In her free time, she loved being outdoors. She found joy in skydiving, stargazing, and the beach. An avid sports fan, she loved following the New York Yankees and the North Carolina Tar Heels.
A memorial service celebrating her life will be held at 7 o'clock Sunday evening September 23, 2018 in the Chapel of Bright Funeral Home.
Pat is survived by her wife; Candy Woodlief, a son; Nathan Patrick Samiec of Charlotte, step-children; Justin Woodlief of Wake Forest and Lindsey Woodlief of Richmond, VA, grandchildren; Jackson and Ryan Woodlief both of Wake Forest, sisters; Mary Pfleiderer and husband Tod of Pine Valley, NY, Doreen Farrell and Audrey Farrell both of Painted Post, NY, a brother; Donald Farrell, Jr and his wife Rhonda of Painted Post, NY, a niece, Samantha Burris, nephews; Kenny, Kody and Travis Warner, Geoffrey Layton and Bo Farrell.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the Duke Cancer Institute for cancer research 710 West Main Street Durham, NC 27701 in memory of Pat.
Friends may visit with the family on Sunday from 5:30 – 7:00 prior to the service at Bright Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 405 South Main Street Wake Forest, NC 27587. (919-556-5811) www.brightfunerals.com.

Our deepest condolences on the loss of such a compassionate and kind soul to those who had the luxury to know her. Having met Pat when Nathan and Errett became friends in child care at Creative Child we valued her friendship through the years. She was extremely proud of Nathan and expressed her love for Candy. We are heartbroken but we are blessed to have known her and to be one of her friends. I will forever remember seeing her on the front porch smoking a cigar when I drove past her house on my way home from Ollies and blowing the horn at her. Words cannot express the loss we feel, but how she touched my life will never be forgotten.

My love to Pat and Candy, Nathan and Justin, I was very sorry and upset to hear the news. Pat will live on in all of our hearts. A wondeful person, a great neighbor, and a fantastic friend. Pat was always lovely to my children who loved her just as much as she loved them, especially our maymay "middle children have to stick together". It was a pleasure to spend time together.
