I am so sorry to hear of Jake´s passing. He was a wonderful man! I got to know him through my mom, Jeanette McGinn, who worked for Jake at DRD for over 30 years. He was so good to her, and all of his employees! Please know your family is in my prayers during this hard time. Rest in Peace, Jake!

Jake was a great friend. I loved him like a brother. We had a great business relationship. He has been fighting for his life for years. In his fight he found eternal life. God bless his soul. You won't be forgotten.

My grandmother, Clara Daniel and Jake´s grandfather, Nathaniel Daniel were brother and sister and had summer houses on Harbor Island next door to each other. My brother Alex and I but little sand crabs in Jake´s ski boat. We were in so much trouble. Growing up with Jake as a cousin was so much fun! Jakie as he was affectionately known lived life to the fullest. He was definitely the most daring skier at Wrightsville Beach.
After serving in Vietnam and attending NC State, he started Deep River Dyeing Company with my father Mac Gold. Jake and Mac worked together until Mac´s death.
Jake is a part of my family´s history. He was an integral part of the success of Deep River Dyeing Company. Jake will be missed by so many. My condolences to Butch and Nathan.

Jake was like a big brother I never had. Jake was in my wedding 44 years ago. My dad thought there was no one like Jake. I will miss you brother. Rest in peace my friend.

Nathan and family, I am thinking of you during this time. I don´t have the right words, as they are hard to find in times of loss. Please know that I hold you in my heart as you walk through this. Jake was a unique and kind man that the Randleman community was so lucky to have. He always let me "work" for him when I came to Deep River with my mom after school by addressing and stamping envelopes. I always joked that my first job was in fifth grade!

I remember Jake vividly, my step-father worked for his Dad. I can still see him skiing barefoot & giving me the signal to toss him a drink. He caught it 100% of the time and could open it l, drink it & never miss a beat.
Although I haven´t seen him in many, many years I remember him to be a great person. I´ll always remember him.
Please accept my deepest condolences.
