Helen Owens Obituary
A graveside service will be Wednesday, 2:00 PM, at Evergreen Memorial Park.
Mrs. Owens was born in Wilson County on August 25, 1934. She was a kind and gentle Christian lady who loved the Lord. She was a member of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church for over 60 years, sang in the choir, and helped with children's Sunday School. She was a homemaker and a great cook who took care of her family.
She is survived by her daughter, Cathy Andrews (Skip) of Wilson; sons, Billy Owens (Nancy) of Wilson and Rev. Bobby Owens (Sharon) of Chocowinity; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sister, Peggy Roberson of Rocky Mount.
Mrs. Owens was preceded in death by her husband Robert Clay "R.C." Owens, Jr.; parents, James and Mae Estelle Flowers; sisters, Ruth Joyner and Rachel Harrell; brother, Jimmie Jenkins.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Redemption Church at New Hope, 5142 NC 58 N, Wilson, NC 27896 or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude’s Pl, Memphis, TN 38105.
