Glenn "Chip" Davis, 65, earned his wings on Sept. 24, 2021. He was born in Kingston and was raised in Hunlock Creek, moving "uptown" when he was 10. He attended Wyoming Valley West and graduated from West Side Tech, Class of 1974. He was on the football team and studied Machine Shop which was where he learned to how to MacGyver everything and anything.
In 1977 he married his neighbor and best friend Sharon Watkins Davis, they were married 44 years. He was the proud father of Justin and the best Pa to Jake and Derek.
He was a carpenter by trade having worked with his brother Douglas for many years before going into business with his brother Bob. After leaving the business, he was employed by Wyoming Valley West School district in maintenance and later as the district carpenter.
He was a member in good standing of the Larksville United Methodist Church. He was an active member of the Larksville Recreation Authority and was involved in coaching in the Ed/Lark Little League, Larksville/ Plymouth Teener Leagues and Kingston-Forty Fort Little League.
He is preceded in death by his parents Margaret and Clarence Davis, his brother Gary P. Davis and his buddy, his mother-in-law Lois Watkins.
He is survived by his wife Sharon, his son Justin (Kristen) and his two best friends his grandsons Jake and Derek, Lyndsey, Laney and Harrison aka Smelly. His brothers Doug, Richard (Nola), of Hunlock Creek, Ronald (JoAnn), of Shickshinny, Robert (Ann), of Larksville, and his sisters Margaret Krupinski (Lou), of Hunlock Creek, and Darlene Koonrad (Joe), of Edwardsville, sister-in-law Stacey Samuels (Klint), of Larksville many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.
Funeral arrangement with Hugh B. Hughes & Son Inc., Funeral Home, 1044 Wyoming Ave., Forty Fort. Viewing will be Tuesday 4 to 8 p.m. and funeral services will be held Wednesday at 10.
