LAFAYETTE - Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 31, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. in Evangeline Memorial Gardens Chapel in Carencro for Aaron Marshall Sheets, age 84, who passed away Wednesday, January 28, 2015 at his residence in Lafayette.

Interment will be in White Chapel Cemetery, 210 W. Church St., Bunkie, LA 71322.

Mr. Sheets was a native of Bunkie and resident of Lafayette since 1966. He was a member of Living Word Church in Lafayette. Mr. Sheets was a great dad who had a big heart. He met no stranger and was respectful and admired by all. He loved history but mostly the word of God. Mr. Sheets was always willing to share his knowledge with others and he was a great provider for his family and a great husband. He will be truly missed by his family and friends.

Survivors include his wife of forty-six years, the former Geraldine Galland of Lafayette; one son, Aaron Marshall Sheets, Jr.; two stepsons, Roger Guillory and Ricky Guillory; one stepdaughter, Kathy Theriot ; twenty grandchildren; and twenty-five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mack Sheets and the former, Lou Lutz, both natives of Bunkie; one stepbrother, Larry Guillory; and one sister, Hazel S. Prevost.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 3:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Friday and will continue from 8:00 a.m. until service time on Saturday.
