Cassie Kilby Obituary
LAFAYETTE - Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 4, 2014 at a 3:00 p.m. service in Melancon Funeral Home in Carencro for Cassie Dene Kilby, age 14, who passed away Saturday, December 28, 2013.
Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery in Lafayette. Pastor David Baudoin, associate pastor of Cross Roads will officiate at the services.
Cassie was a native and lifelong resident of Lafayette. She was a member of the choir and an honor student at Lafayette High School. Cassie was kind, gentle, patient and always had a smile on her face that brightened everyone around her.
Survivors include her parents, Joseph Kilby and his wife, Cassandra Kilby; her mother, Rebecca Broussard of Lafayette; five brothers, Jude Guidry of Crowley, Brandon Broussard of Lafayette, Tyler Robin of Henderson, Destin Hail of Breaux Bridge and Colt Kilby of Lafayette; three sisters, Kaylyn Robin of Henderson, and Shelby Duplantis and Tiffany Morace both of Lafayette; Will Luther who was a part of her life for fourteen years; her grandmother, Judy Alleman of Sunset; her grandfather, John Broussard, Jr. of Texas; four uncles, Larry Jarvis of North Carolina, Terry Alleman, Jr. of Carencro, Ronald Broussard of Texas and T. John Broussard of Texas; two aunts, Roxanne Broussard of Texas and Kate Broussard of Texas.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Joseph John Kilby, Jr; and one grandmother, Geraldine Kilby.
An inspirational message will be given at 7:00 p.m. Friday in the funeral home by Gregory Gaspard, pastor of Unity Baptist Church.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 10:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. Friday and will continue from 8:00 a.m. until service time on Saturday.
Pallbearers will be Joseph Kilby, Will Luther, Jude Guidry, Brandon Broussard, Will Robin and Landon Fortson.
