Daren James Broussard

MILTON - Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 1, 2011, at a 2:00 PM Mass of Christian Burial in St. Joseph Catholic Church in Milton, for Daren James Broussard, 48, who passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 29, 2011 at Heart Hospital of Lafayette.

Entombment will be in St. Joseph Mausoleum.

Reverend Aaron Melancon, Pastor of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Milton, will be the Celebrant of the Funeral Mass, along with Deacon Cody Miller assisting with the services.

Survivors include one step-daughter, Sara Fontenot; his father, Walter Broussard and his companion Una Broussard; two sisters, Arleen Choate and her husband David and Tamra Broussard; one brother, Blaine Broussard and his wife Tyree; seven nieces and nephews, Adonia Choate Guilbeaux and her husband Danny, Andreá Choate, Anthony Choate, Alonda Choate Pecoraro and her husband Mario, Alysha Choate, Alex Choate and Brayden Broussard; and one great niece and numerous nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Jeannette LeBlanc Broussard.

A lifelong resident of Milton, Daren was a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Room at Women's & Children's Hospital and has worked at numerous hospitals in the Lafayette area, including Heart Hospital of Lafayette. He was a former Chief in the Milton Volunteer Fire Department, Co-Owner of NuNu's Markets and he was an award winning Photographer and owner of Studio 810 Photography. Daren will be greatly missed by his family, friends and all who loved and knew him throughout the community.

Pallbearers will be Danny Guilbeaux, Mario Pecoraro, Anthony Choate, John LeBlanc, Neles LeLeux and Toby Richard.

The family requests that visitation be observed in Martin & Castille's SOUTHSIDE Lafayette location on Monday, October 31, 2011 from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM and on Tuesday from 8:00 AM until time of service.

A Rosary will be prayed by Deacon Cody Miller on Monday at 7:00 PM in Martin & Castille Funeral Home. View the obituary and guestbook online at www.mourning.com

I did not really know Daren but his family is one of the best so I know he was too!! It is so hard to lose such a great person and at such a young age. My husband was taken quickly much the same and it still hurts but God is in charge!! Love, peace and much comfort to you all ... God will see you through!!

Daren swung for the fence. He worked in the store, he was a
Fire Chief, he decided to be a nurse and went thru with it, he had a passion for photography and made it happen. He loved his family and was kind to strangers. He was too young to go but he squeezed everything he could into his years that he did live. I am happy and proud to have know him and it inspires me to think of him.
