George Conover Obituary
Lafayette - Memorial Services celebrating the life of George E. Conover Jr., 74, will be held on Thursday, May 24, 2018 at Covenant United Methodist, 300 E. Martial Ave. Lafayette, LA. The family will receive visitors beginning at 1 pm until the time of service at 2 pm. Reception will follow memorial service.
George E. Conover Jr. was born August 24, 1943 in Atchison, Kansas to George and LaDora Conover. George transitioned into eternal life on Friday, May 18, 2018 at Lafayette General Medical Center with his loving and devoted family by his side.
George loved his family dearly and was a hard worker. He worked hardest at being a loving father. George was dedicated to his career in the oil and gas industry where he was employed for over 40 years.
When we reflect on George's life we will always remember his kind, and generous nature. His willingness to give freely of himself for those in need, and most of all his ability to love the most challenging of people. We will miss him dearly.
George Conover leaves lasting memories with his wife of 55 years Andrea Conover; daughter Melinda Potier and her husband Gary Potier; grandsons Charles Leger and Tyler Potier; granddaughter Alicia Leger; sister Barbara Conover Morris; great grandchildren Azriel and Aurora Snodgrass and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
The family would like to thank everyone that has supported us through this time of loss. Special thanks to Lafayette General Medical Hospital, and Esmond Barker, M.D., and Dr. Allan. Also thank you to Marybeth Harrington, and Covenant United Methodists for preparing a beautiful service.

Andy - I JUST found out about George's passing! I am soooo sorry for your loss. I will cherish the times we had at the Office, Movant's and visiting the camp (you and his lovely camp) that he was SO proud of. may he Rest in Peace. . . .HE was a friend indeed! Jimmy Broussard

Rest in peace sweet brother of mine. I will miss our long conversations about everything and nothing ... from down memory lane when we were kids ... our lives since then and longer conversations and bantering in more recent years.
