Lester Rapp Obituary
Baton Rouge - Lester Rapp was a native of Libertyville, IL, and a longtime resident of Baton Rouge. He passed away Saturday, November 11, 2017, at age 87. Lester was a chemical engineer with Kaiser Aluminum and Chemical Corporation, retiring after 26 years of service. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran. He is survived by his son, Erich Rapp; and wife Alexis; and their daughter, Abby Mixon. Preceded in death by his wife of 30 years, Mary Ann Chandler Rapp; and parents, William and Margaret Lockhart Rapp. A visitation was held at Rabenhorst Funeral Home, 825 Government Street, Monday, November 13, 2017, at 1 pm until memorial services at 2 pm. A private interment will follow at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Baton Rouge Area Foundation.

Many years I worked with Lester and Phil before and after they retired. Lots of smiles and memories here at Kaiser. My coworker called him the Bionic Man much to his delight. A good man indeed.

Mr. Lester was such a friendly neighbor to my daughter. I myself loved chatting with him. He seemed to me to be a model of graceful aging with his ready smile and natural curiosity still very much intact. My condolences to the Rapp family at this time.
