Louis Binevenu Obituary
LAFAYETTE - Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, February 14, 2012 in the Delhomme Chapel of the Flowers for Louis Francis Bienvenu, Jr., 93, who passed away on February 11, 2012 at 10:10 am at his residence.
Reverend Ronald "Jimmy" LeBlanc, nephew of Mr. Bienvenu and Priest in Charge at Incarnation Church, will conduct the funeral services.
Burial will take place in Fountain Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Mr . Bienvenu, a resident of Lafayette, LA, was the son of the late Louis Francis Bienvenu, Sr. and the former Effie de la' Loire both of St. Martinville, Louisiana. He was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Church. Mr. Bienvenu enjoyed "Big Band" dancing and traveling with friends.
He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Doris Mae Duhon Bienvenu of Lafayette, LA; two daughters, Cherie Robira of Lafayette, LA, Frances McMath and husband Chuck of Lafayette, LA; one son, Morris Bienvenu and wife Diane of Lafayette, LA; one sister, Stephanie DeRouen of Lafayette, LA; one brother Malcolm "Mickey" Bienvenu of Syracuse, NY; seven grandchildren, Jason and Christian Robira, Mickal and Zackery McMath, Lauren McMath Harris, Casey and Dustin Bienvenu; three great grandchildren, Madison and Kathryn Gumfory and Grahm Harris.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter Mary Elizabeth, one grandson Brett Bienvenu and one brother John "Blackie" Bienvenu.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Delhomme Funeral Home of Lafayette on Monday, February 13, 2012 from 4:00 pm until 9:00 pm and continue Tuesday from 8:00 am until time of service. A rosary will be recited Monday evening at 6:00 pm in the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be his grandsons.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made in Mr. Bienvenu's name to The Alzheimer's Association, 2605 River Road, New Orleans, LA 70121.
The family wishes to thank Nancy and Rickey LeLeux, Harbor Hospice and Comp-u-Care.

Frances, Cherie and Morris,
Your dad's death was used by God to bring our families together - what a gift to each of us!
Uncle "Speck" was behind the scenes - always the "Wind Beneath..." for your mom. Besides being a loving provider to both you and your mom, his greatest gift was his love for your mom. Being with all of you yesterday was a tribute to him - through all of you.
I love you all and my prayers are with each of you.
