Mildred M. Broussard

Lafayette - Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 24, 2021 at an 11:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial in St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Maurice for Mildred Menard Broussard, age 84, who passed away at her residence in Lafayette on Tuesday evening, July 20, 2021 with her family at her side.

Entombment will be in St. Alphonsus Mausoleum.

Reverend Paul Bienvenu, Pastor of St. Alphonsus Catholic church will conduct the funeral services.

She is survived by two sons, Dwight Broussard and wife, Audrey, and Gregory Broussard and wife Jennifer; two daughters, Donna Broussard, and Antoinette "Toni" Luquette and husband Bane; many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; her sisters, Rachel Latiolais (Mel) and Becky Landry (June); and her brothers, Floyd (Jane), Larry (Kathy), Allen (Juanita), Donny (Judy), Tommy (Debbie), Glen, and Mike (Janice) Menard.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Weston James "Bruce" Broussard; her parents, Dalton and Rose Menard; her brother, Lester Menard and wife Jane; her sister, Rudell Broussard; her sister in law, Sandra Menard; her daughter-in-law, Robin Broussard; and her grandson, Jason Broussard.

Mildred was a native of Lafayette and was born the oldest of 12 siblings. She spent her whole life loving and caring for children. She owned and operated La Famille Day Care for many years, retired as a Lafayette Parish school bus driver, and later worked at Grace Presbyterian Church's mother's day out program. Mildred was a passionate reader of her Harlequin Romance books, often reading a book a day; also loved a good game of Bouree. She loved sewing and spending time with her family. Her legacy of love will live on in the hearts of everyone she touched throughout the years.

Pallbearers will be Dwight Broussard, Gregory Broussard, Jeremy Broussard, Aaron Broussard, Derek Robin, and Daniel Robin.

The family requests that visitation be observed in Martin & Castille's SOUTHSIDE location on Friday from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM and will continue on Saturday from 8:00 AM until time of services.

A Rosary will be prayed Friday evening at 6:30 PM in the funeral home.

Memorial contributions can be made in Mildred Broussard's name to Hospice of Acadiana.

A heartfelt appreciation is extended by the Broussard family to the staff of Hospice of Acadiana. A special thank you to Mildred's sister in law, Deanna Bourliea for her loving support and care she showed during our family's time of need.
