Patrick DeRousselle Obituary
LAFAYETTE - Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 2, 2014, at an 11:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial in St. Genevieve Catholic Church in Lafayette, for Patrick DeRousselle, 81, who died on Wednesday, July 30, 2014 at his residence in Lafayette surrounded by his family.
Entombment will be in Calvary Mausoleum.
Reverend Brian Taylor, Pastor of St. Genevieve Catholic Church, will be the Celebrant of the funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Giftbearers will be Chauntel Broussard, Monique Broussard, Holly Estopinal and Abby Estopinal. Musical selections will be "Amazing Grace", "Ave Maria", "Just A Closer Walk With Thee" and "J'irai la voir un jour".
He leaves to cherish his memory, his beloved wife, Theresa Delhomme DeRousselle; two daughters, Pennye Broussard and her husband, Patrick, and Melanie Estopinal and her husband, Wade; two sons, Ronald DeRousselle and Kenneth DeRousselle and his wife Joy; two sisters, Patsy Rogers and Juanita Guidry; one brother, Allen DeRousselle; and 7 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edgar and Amanda Talbot DeRousselle; and a sister, Angeline DeRousselle.
Patrick was born on August 5, 1932 in Lafayette, Louisiana. He was a member of the United States Air Force and proudly served his country during the Korean Conflict. He had retired after a long career as a Surveyor in the Oilfield Industry. Patrick enjoyed fishing, golfing, and spending time with family and friends. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Pallbearers will be Ronald DeRousselle, Kenneth DeRousselle, Patrick Broussard, Wade Estopinal, Joseph Estopinal and Allen DeRousselle.
A Rosary will be recited on Friday at 7:00 PM in Martin & Castille's DOWNTOWN Location.
The family requests that visitation be observed on Friday, August 1, 2014, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and will continue on Saturday from 8:00 AM until time of services.
The DeRousselle family extends a heartfelt appreciation to Louisiana Hospice and Palliative Care and to Louisiana Home Care for the compassionate care given to Mr. DeRousselle during his time of need.
