Patsy Morvant Obituary
Lafayette - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 am on Friday, June 15 at Sacred Heart Church in Broussard for life-long Broussard resident Patsy Landry Morvant who passed away Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at age 85.
A lifetime parishioner of Sacred Heart Church in Broussard, she was a member of the Ladies Alter Society; she was also a supporter of St. Joseph's Church in Broussard. Patsy carried her love of God into everyday life.
She is survived by her adored daughters Julie Wooley, husband Gary, and Patrice Doucet; along with her loved grandsons Chase and Grant Wooley and Brennan Doucet; and sister Lorraine Newberry.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Charles M. Morvant and parents Wallace and Lyra Landry.
Patsy was the all-American mother who made birthdays and holidays memorable, cooked great meals, lived by Christianity, taught her children the power of prayer, manners, fairness, modesty, the immeasurable value of playing outside, and the importance of family unity. She passed on her love of nature, flowers, and animals. Through her actions, she taught us to love and respect others.
Father Louis Richard will be the celebrant of the funeral mass, with the Very Rev. Thomas James as concelebrant.
Pallbearers will be: Gary Wooley, Chase Wooley, Grant Wooley, Brennan Doucet, Ray Gary and Mayor Charles Langlinais.
Honorary Pallbearers are Stephen Phillips and David Charles Langlinais.
The family requests that visitation be observed at David's Funeral Home, Youngsville Hwy., on Thursday, June 14 from 4:00pm until 8:00pm with a recitation of the rosary at 7:00pm and resume on Friday, June 15 from 8am until time to leave for the Christian Mass in Broussard at 11am. Interment will follow at Sacred Heart Mausoleum.
Special thanks to Dr. Ed Lyons and the outstanding and compassionate nurses of Lafayette General's 5th floor ICU and 5th floor Medicine.

Patrice, Julie and Family...I was shocked and saddened to hear about the loss of your Mom...Such a beautiful person, both inside and out...My Mom and Dad had many good, fun memories with her and your Dad...I can only imagine the welcome she received upon her arrival in Heaven...She is now in God's care and is watching over all of you...She will always be with you in spirit and love...Listen, and you will hear her often.
