Patsy Stone Obituary
LAFAYETTE - Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 21, 2017 at 1:00 PM in Martin & Castille's La Fleur de Lis Chapel in Lafayette for Patsy A. Stone , 70, who died on Saturday, June 17, 2017 at her residence in Lafayette after a prolonged battle with MS.
Interment will be held Saturday, June 24, 2017 in Oakwood Cemetery in Lanett, Alabama
Luther Burney of First Baptist Church, will conduct the funeral services.
Survivors include her husband, David M. Stone; one daughter, Amy Boudreaux and her husband, Jason Boudreaux; one son, Tim Stone and his spouse, Christy Delcambre; one brother, David Smallwood and his wife, Billie; two grandchildren, Jacob Lacombe and Alicia Duhon; and one great-grandchild, Amberleigh Duhon.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lonnie Guy Smallwood and Jocelyn L King Smallwood; and one sister, Phyllis Stong.
Patsy Smallwood Stone was a native of Lanett, Alabama and resident of Lafayette, Louisiana for most of her life. She enjoyed painting, ballet, playing tennis and softball. Patsy volunteered for Lafayette Animal Aid for many years. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend who will be dearly missed.
Pallbearers will be, Jacob Lacombe, Destin Duhon, Craig Johnson, Mike Stone, Jason Boudreaux, and Tim Stone.
The family requests that visitation be observed in Martin & Castille's SOUTHSIDE location on Wednesday, June 21, 2017 from 9:00 AM until time of service.
Memorial contributions can be made in Mrs. Stone's name to the National MS Society, 4613 Fairfield St. Metairie, LA 70006 or the Alzheimer's Association of Louisiana, 3445 North Causeway Boulevard, Suite 902, Metairie, LA 70002.

David I am so saddened by the loss of Patsy. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family at this difficult time. I remember her dad coming to pick me up for dance sessions. I could tell from pictures of your reunions the love you had for her. I am so sorry.

David, my love and sincerest thoughts go out to you and to your and Patsy's entire family. Patsy and I have been friends since kindergarten, taking many years of tap and ballet together from Ann Murphy. David, you became a good friend later in school--but a good one just the same. You two were a true example of real love, beginning in high school, never wavering and enduring to the very end. David, you were a real blessing to her. Everyone should be so fortunate to have a "David Stone" in his or her life. We will truly miss her at future reunions and gatherings of Lanett High School's Class of '65.

David, I am sadden to hear of Patsy's passing. She was such a sweet person. The Sixties Reunion won't be the same. I know she is at peace and pray that you and your family find peace in knowing Patsy is finally at rest.
