Patsy Emojean Wilkerson

LAFAYETTE - Funeral Services will be held Sunday, June 24, 2012 at 2:30 p.m. at Fountain Memorial Funeral Home in Lafayette for Patsy Emojean Wilkerson, 64, who died Wednesday, June 20, 2012 at Regional Medical Center of Acadiana in Lafayette.

Interment will follow in Fountain Memorial Cemetery in Lafayette.

Pastor Weldon Moak, of the First Baptist Church of Broussard, will officiate.

Patsy was born Sunday, October 12, 1947 at the Lloyd Franklin Plantation in Rayville, LA and was a long-time resident of Acadiana. She worked as a courier for Morrison & Dickson in Alexandria for 15 years.

Patsy loved to drink coffee with friends and family and enjoyed going to the casino. She liked to be outdoors and working in her yard. Most of all, she treasured her family and spending time with them. She was a loving, supportive mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend and will be deeply missed.

Patsy is survived by her beloved seven children, Camie Daigle, Desiree Breaux and her husband, Ricky, Roderick Hernandez, Anthony Wilkerson, Shadonna Blankenship, Skylar Savoie and Meagan Savoie, all of Lafayette; fifteen grandchildren; one great-grandchild; five brothers, Milton W. and Ronnie M. Wilkerson, both of Odessa, TX, Floyd D. Wilkerson of Lafayette, Gerald Long of Bryan, TX and Derald Long of Scott; and numerous dear nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents Milton Wilkerson and the former Audie Mae Tarver; one grandchild, Courtney Breaux; two brothers and one sister.

Visitation will be observed at Fountain Memorial Funeral Home in Lafayette on Saturday, June 23, 2012 from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and resumes Sunday, June 24, 2012 at 9:00 a.m. until time of services.

The family would like to thank the staff at Regional Medical Center of Acadiana and hospitalist physician Dr. Garth King for the compassion and care given to Patsy and her family.
