Shirley Daigle Obituary
LAFAYETTE - Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 5, 2016 at an 11:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial in St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church in Lafayette for Shirley Daigle, 72, who died on Friday, July 1, 2016 at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette.
Interment will be in Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery.
Reverend Gary Schexnayder, Pastor of St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church, will be the Celebrant of the funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Lectors will be Angela Daigle and Rowdy Daigle. Giftbearers will be Pam Chaney and Anna Reed. Musical selections will be, "I Can Only Imagine", "On Eagles' Wings", "In The Arms of the Angel", and "Amazing Grace".
She leaves to cherish her memory, her beloved husband of 55 years, Joseph C. Daigle; one daughter, Pam Chaney and her husband, Frederick; one son, Rowdy Daigle and his wife, Clarice; five grandchildren, Ricky Daigle, Stephanie Daigle, Ashley Daigle, Anna Reed and Gabrielle Chaney; and four great grandchildren, Rowdy Daigle, Sampson Daigle; Wyatt Daigle and Alyssa Daigle; and her siblings, Elba Stelly, Lee Stelly and his wife, Shirley, Beverly Boudreaux and Theresa Stelly.
She was preceded in death by, nine siblings, Nickes Stelly, Lely Stelly, Jacque Stelly, J.B. Stelly, Regina Pellerin, Lela Stelly, Rena Guidry, Alex Stelly, and Mabel Hayes; and her parents, Jacque Albert and Anna Savoy Stelly.
Shirley Stelly Daigle was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend to all who knew her. She was born in Lafayette, Louisiana and remained a lifelong resident. Mrs. Daigle enjoyed making jewelry, painting, sewing, crocheting and camping. She was very involved in her church and loved spending time with family and friends. She will be dearly missed.
A Rosary will be recited on Monday, July 4, 2016 at 7:00 PM in Martin & Castille's DOWNTOWN Location.
The family requests that visitation be observed on Monday from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM and will continue on Tuesday from 8:00 AM until time of services.
