Aaron J. Armond

I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith. Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing. A ceremony celebrating the life of Mr. Aaron J. Armond will be Wednesday at 1 pm at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church Denham Springs; visitation will begin at 10 am until time of the service. Interment will follow at Denham Springs Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Church Funeral Services of Livingston Parish. Mr. Armond began his life journey on June 14, 1931 and went to his heavenly home on Tuesday October 13, 2015, at his home, at the age of 84 years. He was a resident of Denham Springs, a retired Nurse Assistance with the Leprosy Hospital in Carville; a devoted member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church; where on Monday mornings from 3 am until 4 am he could be found praying. He served with the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He loved his family unconditionally and especially spending time with them. He had a passion for rabbit hunting and his hunting dogs. He enjoyed working in his yard and for over fifty years his "hobby" was repairing lawn mowers. He seemed to have a talent for being able to "fix" anything. He is preceded in death by his first wife Mildred Harris Armond, his parents Clifton and Lula Smith Armond; granddaughter Jana Elaine Bassett and siblings Hubert, Gladys and Ledelle. He is survived by his wife Laverne Curry Armond; his daughter Donna Bassett and her husband Rev. Don Bassett; his grandchildren Mark and Gracie; great grandchild Drew; his siblings Ernest, Edith, Patsy and Barbara; also survived by a host of nieces and nephews.
