All I could think of when I heard the news was What a joy Al was to be around and the pain you and Nichlaus must be experiencing. I'm so sorry to hear of your loss. He was such a remarkable person and I think of you guys often. I wished I would have stayed more in touch but our lives have become so distant with daily activities with our own family. I will keep you all in my prayers. Lora McNutt (Aguillard)

To the Salzer Families
I was stunned to see Al's death information in the paper. I worked with Al a long time ago at Beam Supply, and have never forgotten him. He was a sweet guy, we were in our 20's and as it turned out be became quite a man. I never knew that he was sick. I pray that God will guide you all in this sad time. I
am sorry for your loss, I know that Al has seen God's face and has eternal rest.

Al was that rare human being that comes along early in one's life and stays in your memory bank forever. With that unique wit and charming personality, you could not help but smile when ever you heard his name.
Always entertaining, yet grounded and compassionate .... he was simply fun to be around.
I look back on our grade and high school days with fond memories and can still see Al driving in that big green station wagon that hauled so many of us safely around Sherwood Forest back in the 70's.
It was my good fortune to know both Al and his family....all wonderful people.
He will be missed...but not forgotten.

Al was such a great friend to me. I am so thankful for that friendship. he taught me a lot during the past few years. He taught me patience, and had more courage than i could even think of having. I have a renewed and stronger relationship with God after watching his courage during his illness. Even through all of the treatments, he was always asking how my family was. He looked out for me and was the first one to help me if i needed something. He touched many people as a friend.
If any of the family ever needs anything. Please dont ever hesitate to call or email me. I would also like to say that kelly is a remarkarble woman for how strong she has been throughout all of this.

John and Lynda,
I was so sorry to hear of Al's passing. I knew he had been ill, but did not knew it had become so serious. Al was a well respected member of our PVF community, and will be sorely missed. Our condolences to you both and to your family.

To The Salzer Family--I had the good fortune of working with Al at US Metals for a few years and am happy to have known him. I only saw him a couple of times, but he was ready to show recent pictures of his wife, daughter and son and was so very proud of you all. God blesses good men and I know he is with him now.

Melissa - I know we have not kept in touch over the last couple of years but I think of you very often and miss seeing you. I am so sorry to hear about your dad. Losing a parent is one of the most difficult things we are faced with. I ask Shelley about you often. I wish I could attend the visitation but I have a Cat Haven Board of Directors meeting tonight and have to work tomorrow. I want you and your family to know that I will be thinking of all of you. Please get in touch with me when you have time so we can "catch" up on everything.

I cannot say that I know, just how you feel
For your hurt is so great, and will take God's touch to heal
Yet is it possible for such a wound, to completely ever mend
When you've lost your mate, parent, child or good friend
Please know that I pray for you, each and every day
And feel God's Holy Spirit, in small and simple ways
And then I am reminded, of such a simple phrase
With all the strength that's in you, please walk by faith
So come to me and talk about, anything you feel
For I'll be here in body, but Christ will soon reveal
That while it is impossible, for a friend to end your pain
HE will bring about a peace, and in your hurt sustain.
He fought a courageous battle!!!
I just loved his sense of humor, especially with emails and prank calls...those would just brighten my day. He will truly, truly be missed.
Love you so much!!!
