Barbara S. Smith

1935 - 2017

Barbara S. Smith passed away Thursday, July 6, 2017 at the age of 82. She was a resident of Baton Rouge, who retired after 20 years with the East Baton Rouge Coroner's Office as a Registered Nurse and Deputy Coroner. She was a member of the Family of Faith Baptist Church and most enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She is survived by her husband of 62 years Jimmy W. Smith, son Steve C. Smith, daughter Carol S. Leven, granddaughter Rachel N. Leven, brother Malcolm Statham, and sister Betty Thompson. She is preceded in death by her parents Augustus and Edna Statham and brother Kenneth Statham. Visiting hours will take place at Resthaven Gardens of Memory and Funeral Home, Tuesday, July 11th from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. with the Funeral Service taking place at 1:00 p.m. The family wishes to extend their sincere thanks to Hospice of Baton Rouge for their compassionate and caring service.
